These terms cover the True-Script app and the true-script.com website. They are written in plain English. If anything is unclear, contact us.

Who we are

True-Script is made by Andy Dodd, an independent developer trading as Iron Triangle Films in the United Kingdom. "We" and "us" in these terms means Andy Dodd.

The app

True-Script is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. That agreement, together with these terms, sets out how you may use the app. Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are requested through Apple.

One purchase unlocks every feature. There is no subscription and no account. We may release updates that add, change or improve features; updates are free.

Your work

Everything you write in True-Script belongs to you. Your scripts are stored on your device and we never see them. Because nothing is stored on our servers, we cannot recover lost work, so please keep backups of anything important, using iCloud device backups or the app's export options.

Dictation and Table Read

Dictation uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and Table Read uses voices provided by iOS. Results depend on your device, your voice and your surroundings, and will sometimes need correcting. Please check your pages before submitting them anywhere.

Acceptable use

Please don't try to reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app, or use it in a way that breaks the law. You are responsible for the content you write and share.

This website

The guides on this site are general information for writers. We take care to keep them accurate and current, but they are not professional, legal or industry advice, and formatting conventions vary between productions, studios and competitions.

The text, images and design of this site are our copyright. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short passages with a link back. Please don't copy whole articles or republish our screenshots without permission.

This site may show adverts in future, to help keep the guides free. See the privacy policy and cookie policy for how cookies and consent work.

Liability

We provide the app and this website with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost work, arising from use of the app or this site.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continuing to use the app or the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
